Mosman Loop
A summer sun loving, tropical look garden that is both safe and inclusive for children and pets.
The Work Begins
With a clear vision in place, we began transforming the very boring space into a fresh, structured, and inviting garden. The first step was clearing out the old plants and preparing the soil, creating a clean slate to work from.
-
Cleared large destructive tree and old plants
-
Dug out old, tired soil
-
Planned a low-maintenance, intentional design
-
Marked out new garden beds
-
Added edging to keep lawn out of beds
-
Added rich soil and mulch to improve plant health
-
Planted flora according to light/heat levels across the yard
-
Installed stones and sand for sandpit
The Finished Space
This garden transformation is a perfect example of how expert plant knowledge and selection can create a garden that would be conceptually impossible. Hot, full sun yards with tropical feel is often not achievable but consideration of the movement of the sun and understanding of how to create micro climates can make anything possible. The backyard is now an inviting place that the owners can enjoy with all the family.
-
Layered tropical planting with a mix of textures and foliage tones
-
Sandpit with edible border plants
-
Low-maintenance plant selection
-
Fresh mulch for a clean, polished look and healthy soil
-
An enjoyable, usable garden space

We contacted TU Flora to assist with transforming our backyard. Lesley assisted us with every step from planning the gardens, shopping for the plants, soil prep and planting and now ongoing maintenance when I need advice for any pests or new plants I want to incorporate. Thanks to her knowledge and expertise our garden is now thriving and it is the first thing people comment on when visiting our house. Our family love spending time outside in the tropical garden with the built in sand pit for the kids- genius!! Can’t wait to use TU floras services again when we are ready to do up the front yard.
